The benchmark blue hosta — heart-shaped, glaucous, almost silver in low light and the variety every other blue is compared to. Reaches around 40-60cm, in flower July to August and happy in woodland gardens. Watch for slug and snail damage — use copper tape, wool pellets, or grit around plants.
