At Planthut, we take great care in packing and dispatching your plants to ensure they arrive healthy and in the best possible condition. Please read our shipping policy carefully so you know what to expect when you order from us.
Delivery Rates
Standard delivery (next working day from dispatch):
- Orders under £30: £8.95
- Orders £30 – £49.99: £6.95
- Orders £50 – £84.99: £4.95
- Orders over £85: Free
Scottish Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight: £14.95
Saturday delivery is available at no additional charge — select your preferred delivery date at checkout.
Local Pickup is available at the nursery, you will be emailed a time slot for collection - usually the next Saturday morning.
Dispatch Days
We dispatch orders Monday to Friday only. We do not dispatch on weekends or UK bank holidays. This is to ensure your plants are not held in a courier depot over a weekend, which can be harmful to live plants.
Orders are typically dispatched on the next available working day after your order is placed. During our spring peak season, please allow up to two working days for dispatch.
Delivery Timeframes
We use APC Overnight as our primary courier and may use alternative couriers for certain order sizes and locations. Delivery is typically next working day from dispatch, though please allow up to 3 working days during busy periods or to more remote postcodes.
Delivery timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Planthut is not liable for delays caused by the courier, adverse weather conditions, or other circumstances outside our control.
If You Are Not Home
If you are not available to receive your delivery, the courier will typically attempt to leave your parcel in a safe place or with a neighbour, and will leave a card or notification confirming where it has been left. Where possible, the courier will take a photograph confirming the delivery location.
If delivery cannot be completed, the courier will attempt redelivery or return the parcel to the local depot for collection. Please monitor your tracking information and collect or retrieve your plants as soon as possible.
Plants left in a parcel for an extended period may deteriorate, and Planthut cannot accept responsibility for plants that have been left uncollected or unattended for an unreasonable length of time after delivery.
Tracking Your Order
Once your order has been dispatched you will receive a confirmation email containing your tracking information, and we will send you updates at key delivery milestones.
Damaged or Lost in Transit
We pack every order carefully to protect your plants during transit. If your order arrives damaged, please contact us at contact@planthut.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery, including:
- Your order number
- A clear photograph of the plant and packaging as received
- A brief description of the issue
Reporting damage within 48 hours allows us to assess condition accurately and resolve issues promptly — please do not discard the plant or packaging until we have confirmed next steps.
If your order has not arrived within 7 working days of the expected delivery date, please contact us so we can investigate with the courier.
We will do our best to resolve any issues promptly and fairly. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by this policy.
Areas We Deliver To
We currently deliver throughout mainland Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands, and the Isle of Wight, with appropriate surcharges for these regions as shown above.
We are not currently able to deliver to the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man. We hope to extend our delivery network to these regions in the future. If your postcode falls outside our delivery area, you will be notified at checkout.
Seasonal and Weather Delays
During periods of extreme heat or cold, we may delay dispatch of certain orders to protect the health of your plants in transit. If this affects your order we will contact you by email to discuss an alternative dispatch date. The safety of your plants always comes first.
