Customer Care
How and when we deliver your plants
To ensure your plants arrive in the best possible condition, we dispatch orders Monday to Friday. We deliberately avoid Saturday dispatches so your live plants are not held in a dark courier depot over the weekend.
Delivery Costs:
- Standard Delivery (1–3 working days)
- Orders under £30: £8.95
- Orders £30 – £49.99: £6.95
- Orders £50 – £84.99: £4.95
- Orders over £85: Free Delivery
We use premium, trusted couriers including APC Overnight, DPD Local, and Royal Mail Tracked 24. Please note that we currently deliver to mainland Great Britain only.
Our policy on live plants
Because we sell live, perishable plants, our returns policy is tailored to protect both you and the plants. We are unable to accept returns for a simple change of mind once an order has been dispatched.
Damaged in transit?
We pack every order incredibly carefully, but if your plant arrives severely damaged, please email us at contact@planthut.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery. Include your order number and a clear photograph of the damage. We will assess it quickly and arrange a replacement or refund at no cost to you.
Settling your plants into their new home
Plants can occasionally experience a little stress from being boxed up during transit. If your plant arrives looking slightly wilted or tired, please do not panic. Unbox it immediately, water it if the soil is dry, and give it 7 days to recover—they bounce back remarkably fast!
A note on winter dormancy:
If you order in autumn or winter, many of our outdoor plants will arrive dormant. They will have dropped their leaves and may look like bare twigs. This is completely normal, not a defect, and is actually the absolute best time to plant them. They will burst into life in the spring.
Managing your Planthut order
Once your order is placed, we begin processing it almost immediately to get it ready for the next available dispatch day. Because of this fast turnaround, we are unable to accommodate cancellations or changes once an order has been accepted.
As soon as your order leaves our Lincolnshire nursery, you will receive an email notification containing your tracking number so you can follow its journey directly to your door.
Need Help?
Whether you need advice on planting or have a question about an existing order, our family team is here to help. As a working nursery, we are often out in the polytunnels or fields, but we check our messages regularly!
